AN ASIAN AMERICAN MAPPING OF BOSTON ZINE

Billy Zeng created a zine highlighting three Asian American historic sites in Massachusetts that no longer physically exist: Jade Restaurant, Glad Day Bookshop, and Syriatown (an area that eventually became part of Chinatown). Through interviews, research, and creative design, the zine explores the histories of these places and the preservation efforts needed to keep their stories alive. Billy's work invites readers to reflect on memory, loss, and cultural heritage, asking what it means to honor places that survive only in community memory long after their physical disappearance.
