Asian & Pacific Islander Americans have shaped this country for centuries.
Less than 1% of historic sites acknowledge that shared heritage.

APIAHiP is the only national organization dedicated to changing that.

We protect historic places and cultural resources significant to Asian & Pacific Islander American communities through education, technical assistance, community advocacy, and grantmaking.

  • APIA communities have the history. We help them navigate the systems: historic designation processes, grant applications, advocacy campaigns, cultural mapping, so their places get the recognition and protection they deserve.

  • Through Preservation Pathways and the Placekeepers Fund, we are provide direct services and distributing $1.5 million in grants directly to community-led APIA preservation projects across the United States and Pacific Island territories.

  • Through convenings, research, and a growing national network, we connect preservationists, historians, planners, and community advocates across the country who share the work of elevating APIA heritage.
